Atomic Edge analysis of CVE-2026-7332:

This vulnerability is an unauthenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) in the LatePoint WordPress plugin (versions booking_form_page_url = urldecode( $booking_form_page_url );` stores the attacker-supplied value. Later, in `/latepoint/lib/controllers/activities_controller.php` (lines 194-210), this stored value is rendered within the activity log without escaping. The `order_intent_created` and `order_intent_updated` cases use `wp_json_encode( $data[‘order_data_vars’], JSON_PRETTY_PRINT )` which does not escape HTML entities, allowing script injection. The `latepoint_order_intent_created` action hook fires before the Stripe Connect account ID is validated, so a functional Stripe integration is not required for exploitation.

Exploitation requires sending a POST request to the `/wp-json/latepoint/v1/process_step` REST endpoint with the `booking_form_page_url` parameter containing a malicious XSS payload, such as `alert(document.cookie)`. The request must include appropriate step parameters to reach the `process_step_booking__contact_or_guest` handler, which invokes `OsOrderIntentHelper::create_or_update_order_intent`. The payload is stored in the database and later rendered when an admin views the activity log page, triggering the script.

The patch, introduced in version 5.5.1, addresses the vulnerability in two ways. First, in `order_intent_helper.php`, the `booking_form_page_url` is now sanitized with `esc_url_raw()` before storage: `$order_intent->booking_form_page_url = esc_url_raw( urldecode( $booking_form_page_url ) );`. This ensures only safe URL characters are stored. Second, in `activities_controller.php`, all activity log output is escaped using `esc_html()` or `wp_kses_post()`, and JSON output uses `JSON_HEX_TAG` flag to escape angle brackets. Additionally, the customer model (`customer_model.php`) now sanitizes `first_name`, `last_name`, and `notes` fields with `sanitize_text_field()` and `sanitize_textarea_field()`, preventing stored XSS via those fields.

Successful exploitation allows an unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the browser of any administrator who views the compromised activity log entry. This can lead to session hijacking, credential theft, defacement, or further attacks against other administrators. The attacker can also perform actions on behalf of the admin, such as creating new admin users or modifying plugin settings.
